As an Engineering Intern II at GCW, you will perform entry‑level professional engineering work including developmental assignments that involve the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks under close supervision.

Essential Functions- Assist with design and planning of engineering projects under the supervision of the Project Manager.
- Prepare reports, models, calculations, drawings, and revisions; review shop drawings and requests‑for‑information under Project Manager supervision.
- Assist with preparing cost estimates and basic calculations.
- Assist with study plans.
- Conduct research and prepare draft technical specifications for review and approval by the Project Manager.
- Interact, as directed, with clients intermittently and gather information from agencies as required.
- Ability to apply engineering principles to evaluate and solve basic engineering problems.
- Working knowledge of CAD Civil 3D software and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and Project).
- For some departments, specific working knowledge of ArcGIS software and/or Water
CAD is preferred.
- Perform water and sewer analysis.
- Prepare GIS databases and exhibits documenting existing and proposed infrastructures.
- Conduct condition assessments of sewer facilities and recommend rehabilitation.
- Develop improvement plans for reservoirs, pump stations, and sewer lift stations.
- Develop improvement plans for major utility infrastructure.
- Design sewer and water main infrastructure.
- Conduct sewer capacity studies.

Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor of Science degree in an appropriate engineering discipline is required.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam: EI certificate.
- Valid driver’s license.
