Overview

IMEG
, one of the largest design consulting firms in the U.S., seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer 1 in its Las Vegas office. The Mechanical Project Engineer 1 is responsible for calculations, system design, equipment selections, reports, progress submittals, BIM instructions for their project, and specifications required to assure project completeness and accuracy within the allocated period of time and monetary budget.

The Mechanical Project Engineer consistently exercises discretion and judgment in performing these duties.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Lead Engineer on projects and perform complete mechanical systems design (for a discipline) according to code.
  • Specify equipment based on project needs and research available technologies.
  • Calculate costs and time schedules for proposed work; review files to determine scope and personnel involved.
  • Maintain good client relations, project design notebook, and documentation for permanent record files.
  • Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, technology, clerical) and equipment suppliers.
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions promptly; monitor project design progress relative to fee expenditure.
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to final checks.
  • Prepare and issue addendum information.
  • Identify potential project problems quickly and seek advice from the Project Manager.
  • Review design methods, scope changes, and client correspondence with the Project Manager.
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and provide other services as required by the contract services agreement.
  • Mentor designers and/or technicians.
Key skills and abilities
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing precision technical plans and drawings.
  • Understanding of physical principles and their applications to fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office, CAD software, and BIM.
  • Clear oral and written communication abilities.
Education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum four years of qualifying experience.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Compensation and benefits

Salary Range: $110,000 – $115,000. Minimums and maximums may vary by location. Individual pay will be based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options. IMEG provides benefits including health insurance, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, paid holidays, and PTO.
