Our client is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to join the hardware product development team responsible for building the next generation of award-winning slot machines. As part of a collaborative mechanical engineering group, you will own the design and development of key subassemblies—from button decks to display enclosures and bring concepts to life through rapid prototyping, testing, and production handoff.
You’ll step into a well-established team environment, taking over subassembly ownership from a long-standing team member. Your role will span 3D/2D design, supplier collaboration, prototype assembly, and iteration cycles.
Key Responsibilities- Own design of mechanical subassemblies (cabinet, display, button deck, topper, etc.)
- Generate 3D models and detailed 2D drawings using Solid Works
- Design components for plastic injection molding, aluminum die casting, and sheet metal fabrication
- Collaborate with suppliers to refine manufacturability and cost efficiency
- Conduct physical prototype assembly, fit‐check, and design validation
- Lead root cause analysis and design revisions based on test findings
- Participate in cross‑functional meetings with electrical, software, and test teams
- Support production release and documentation handoff
- 3–6+ years of mechanical engineering experience in product development
- Strong 3D/2D CAD skills – Solid Works preferred (ProE or CATIA acceptable)
- Experience designing for plastic, sheet metal, and die‑cast parts
- Good experience with Consumer electronics/Gaming hardware/entertainment product design
- Familiarity with GD&T, DFM/DFA principles, and BOM structures
- Hands‑on experience assembling and testing prototypes
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work hybrid in Las Vegas (Tues–Thurs onsite)
