OpportunityWe are seeking an Associate Project Engineer to join a team that values curiosity, innovation, and engineering rigor. This hybrid role, based in Southern California, blends hands‑on fieldwork, analytical modeling, and forward‑looking design.
What You’ll Do- Perform seismic evaluations under California state regulatory requirements, including demand calculations and anchorage evaluations.
- Conduct facility walk‑downs, as‑built verifications, and engineering call‑outs for tanks, containments, foundations, and utilities.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports using AutoCAD.
- Manage projects from scoping through delivery, including client coordination, design coordination, construction support, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct field inspections, seismic walk‑downs, and as‑built verifications to support engineering design and safety audits.
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure safe, code‑compliant, and cost‑effective solutions.
- Use Microsoft Office products to develop reports and client‑facing documentation.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of civil/structural engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of seismic evaluations, structural inspection reports, and mechanical/structural interface challenges.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn emerging analytical or modeling software.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid schedule (office + client site visits).
- Experience in refinery, food processing, manufacturing, or energy infrastructure facilities.
- Familiarity with California building codes and industrial safety requirements.
- A mindset for innovation, continuous improvement, and applying engineering intuition to solve complex, ambiguous field challenges.
