Position SummaryEO Solutions is seeking a versatile and hands-on Technician to support our SDA hardware team in Las Vegas. This role involves assembly, maintenance, integration, and testing of mechanical, electrical, and welded components in complex systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience across disciplines—including fabrication and troubleshooting—with machining experience considered a plus. This position supports the development, deployment, and sustainment of systems critical to national space domain awareness missions.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble, integrate, and test mechanical and electrical subsystems (including welded structures and enclosures)
- Support installation and commissioning of SDA sensor systems and supporting infrastructure
- Perform basic wiring, soldering, and electrical troubleshooting
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on deployed systems and prototypes
- Operate shop tools and assist with light machining or fabrication as needed
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
- Maintain accurate build documentation and contribute to quality control processes
- Manage tools, inventory, and workspace in an organized and safe manner
- Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and other technicians to meet build and deployment schedules
- Occasionally support off-site integration and testing at remote locations or field sites
- Required:
- 3+ years of hands-on technical experience (mechanical, electrical, or fabrication)
- Strong mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to weld and fabricate components per basic specifications
- Familiarity with electrical systems (e.g., wiring, connectors, basic diagnostics)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong team orientation with good verbal and written communication
- Must be comfortable working in both lab and field environments
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be eligible for a security clearance
- Preferred:
- Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent trade certification
- Experience working on aerospace, defense, or optical sensor systems
- Basic experience with machining tools (mill, lathe, drill press)
- Experience supporting field testing or system deployments
