PositionHDR is seeking a Power Generation Data Center Lead to be part of our Power Generation Practice. The role focuses on consulting services that support the development of power generation systems for data centers and mission‑critical sites. The incumbent will lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage client relationships, and collaborate with partners across numerous market sectors.

You have proven project leadership experience and the expertise to plan, schedule and deliver complex design and consulting assignments for a wide range of power generation technologies.
PrimaryResponsibilities
Provide leadership for power generation consulting services dedicated to data center and mission‑critical projects. This includes client interaction, multidisciplinary coordination and project management within HDR’s matrix organization.
- Work closely with leads from Power Generation, Power Delivery, Data Centers, Due Diligence and Industrial Services.
- Oversee coordination, quality and timely completion of power generation projects or programs supporting data centers.
- Serve key roles in projects and pursuit activities as required.
- Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams to develop power generation solutions for data centers.
- Support client relationships, marketing, project execution and collaboration meetings.
- Lead high‑performing teams within HDR’s matrix structure to support data center initiatives.
- Present at industry and client events to enhance HDR brand awareness.
- Master’s degree in business or engineering.
- Expertise in power markets and the nexus of power with technology, including rapid deployment requirements.
- Experience supporting large demand customers such as data centers with infrastructure development.
- Experience with a variety of client types: regulated and non‑regulated utilities, independent power producers, municipalities and other public and private clients.
- Knowledge of electric power systems, market participants, energy contracts, project finance and utility‑scale and distributed power generation technologies.
- Strong client development and management skills with a focus on high‑quality delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Willingness to travel for in‑person client meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimation and scheduling software, and project management tools.
- Excellent organizational, project management and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture and active participation.
