Position OverviewAs an entry‑level mechanical designer at Henderson Engineers, you will contribute your expertise to six market sectors, including Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. Within each sector, we seamlessly integrate our engineering knowledge with the in‑the‑field experience of our sister company, Henderson Building Solutions, to deliver an unparalleled client experience. Key Responsibilities- Perform calculations and design basic engineering systems in collaboration with experienced design staff.
- Prepare system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
- Review shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Prepare or modify reports, plans, and designs for projects.
- Support business development or pursuit activities.
- Participate in client, company, and/or industry events to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Occasionally visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
- Seek to fill gaps in industry and/or discipline knowledge on a continuous basis.
- Maintain knowledge of common industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, architectural engineering or a related field and one year of experience, or three years of experience without a degree.
- Basic proficiency in engineering design, including knowledge of A&E industry codes, design guides, and standards.
- Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam Revu software preferred.
- Understanding of the fundamental principles of HVAC design.
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
