SummaryPerform professional engineering project management work. Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to all projects assigned. Lead multiple projects through all phases from conceptual design to completion, according to project timelines and budgets. Typical phases include conceptual design, project scope, engineering design, environmental assessment and documentation, and construction. Oversee contractors and consultants and provide direction to project employees.
Work is performed based on engineering principles and standards, and complies with county, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Prepare engineering project proposals and schedules to ensure projects are on time and within budget, meeting client requirements.
- Oversee detailed design of assigned projects and produce final drawings.
- Consult with Manager/VP on unusual problems and obtain approval for completed plans and documents.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, direct, and ensure successful construction and completion of assigned projects; review and approve complete plans.
- Establish project schedules, milestones, and critical production pathways.
- Prepare written reports, contracts, additional service authorizations, and pre‑bills.
- Implement internal quality control methods and procedures to meet company, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Make independent engineering decisions and represent the company at conferences to resolve important questions and coordinate work.
- Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal/external support teams.
- Oversee invoicing and collection of payments from clients for assigned projects.
- Actively participate in new business development; meet with key clients to discuss current projects, evaluate firm performance, and identify new opportunities.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in engineering design and/or project management with progressive responsibility.
- Nevada Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Valid driver’s license.
- May be required to travel by personal vehicle.
