Job Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Product Development Engineer for our client, an American manufacturer of luxury hot tubs, swim spas, and pools based in Las Vegas, NV. This role will lead the design, development, testing, and launch of new products, and sustain engineering improvements for existing product lines. The candidate will drive innovation, ensure regulatory and UL compliance, and execute product development projects from concept through production.
Responsibilities- Lead the end‑to‑end product development lifecycle—from concept, feasibility, modeling, and prototyping to testing and final production release.
- Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using Solid Works (including simulations, FEA, GD&T, BOM creation, etc.).
- Develop and maintain product specifications, technical documentation, CAD models, and engineering change orders.
- Ensure all new and modified products meet UL, CSA, CE, and other applicable regulatory and safety standards.
- Coordinate product testing, validation, and certification processes internally and with third‑party labs.
- Conduct risk assessments (FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA) and lead corrective actions related to design, performance, and safety.
- Lead multi‑disciplinary project teams involving manufacturing, sourcing, quality, marketing, and operations to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Manage product development timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Support vendor evaluations, material selection, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of progressive product development or mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or regulated industry (spa, appliance, consumer products, or electromechanical device industry).
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and quality systems (ISO, Six Sigma, Kaizen preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in UL/compliance, electrical safety standards, and certification processes.
- Strong understanding of platform manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, sheet metal, plastics, etc.).
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering documentation.
- Ability to conduct engineering calculations, tolerance stackups, thermal and structural analysis.
Base salary: $125,000 – $150,000 annually, plus a relocation package.
