Position Overview

McClain Resources is conducting a confidential search for a client in the hospitality sector. The company is recognized for its unique character, customer value, and commitment to guest experience. As we continue to evolve and build on our reputation, we seek an exceptional SVP/VP of Finance to drive strategic vision across all assigned departments.

The Sr. Vice President of Finance will play a critical leadership role within the company, overseeing the financial operations as assigned and ensuring the company’s fiscal health and growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the SVP of Finance will provide strategic guidance, implement best financial practices, and support business initiatives across the organization’s diverse hospitality portfolio. This position requires a dynamic, results-driven leader who can manage complex financial landscapes in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for the company’s portfolio of businesses.
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives, evaluate investment opportunities, and optimize capital allocation.
  • Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Manage treasury functions, including cash flow management, banking relationships, and debt financing.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring sound risk management practices are in place.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to enhance business performance, operational efficiency, and guest experience through data-driven insights.
Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA, CPA, or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in hospitality, gaming, or multi-unit restaurant sectors. Prior experience as a Controller/VP of Finance or in a senior finance executive role is required.

  • Technical Expertise:
    Deep knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgetary control, and financial management systems. Experience with ERP and business analytics platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strategic Acumen:
    Demonstrated ability to develop and execute financial strategies that drive business growth and improve profitability in a complex, multi-entity environment.
  • Leadership

    Skills:

    Proven track record of leading and inspiring multidisciplinary teams, including finance, information systems, and human resources professionals.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    Familiarity with regulatory requirements within the casino, hospitality, and food service industries, including gaming regulations and labor laws.
  • Analytical and Problem Solving:
    Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-driven, data-oriented mindset.
  • Communication:
    Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences and build trusted relationships across all levels.
