Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Front Office Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures, excellent communication skills, and experience with insurance verifications. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a seamless patient experience from the moment they enter our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Engagement:
- Greet patients warmly as they arrive at the office.
- Verify and update patient information, including demographics and insurance details.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional manner.
- Insurance Verification:
- Conduct pre-authorization and verification of insurance benefits prior to patient appointments.
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary information regarding coverage and eligibility.
- Ensure that all insurance information is accurately documented in patient records.
- Administrative Support:
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the office calendar effectively.
- Prepare and maintain patient files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with billing processes, including the submission of claims and follow-up on unpaid claims.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient flow and address any patient concerns.
- Assist with any other clerical duties as needed to support the front office operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant certification preferred.
- Proven experience in a front office or medical assistant role, particularly in insurance verification.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
