Las Vegas Urology is seeking a patient-focused, detail-oriented Back Office Medical Assistant / Pelvic Floor Therapy Technician to join our clinical team. This dual-function role supports physicians and Advanced Practice Providers with back-office clinical duties while assisting licensed providers with pelvic floor therapy services.
Key ResponsibilitiesBack Office Medical Assistant Duties
- Room patients, obtain and document vitals, review medical histories, and prepare exam rooms
- Assist providers with urologic procedures, including setup, breakdown, cleanup, and documentation
- Perform wound care, specimen collection, injections, and medication administration as ordered
- Assist with catheter-related procedures, voiding trials, bladder instillations, and patient education
- Maintain sterilization standards, clinical compliance logs, and control books
- Manage prescription refill requests and assist with prior authorizations
- Answer patient calls, manage daily voicemails, and return calls within required timelines
- Perform clerical duties including scanning, faxing, emailing, and document management
Pelvic Floor Therapy Technician Support
- Assist licensed providers or Physical Therapists during pelvic floor therapy sessions
- Prepare treatment rooms and therapy equipment
- Escort, position, and monitor patients during therapy sessions while ensuring comfort and privacy
- Reinforce provider‑directed home exercise programs and education as instructed
- Maintain cleanliness, infection control standards, and proper storage of therapy equipment
- Document assigned therapy support activities in the electronic medical record
- Coordinate therapy scheduling and assist with patient flow
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred
- Medical Assistant certification (AAMA or equivalent) preferred
- Experience in urology, women's health, pelvic health, or rehabilitation a plus
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Strong knowledge of back-office clinical procedures and medical terminology
- Professional, compassionate, and patient‑centered approach
- Comfortable assisting with sensitive examinations and pelvic health care
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high‑volume environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to HIPAA compliance
- Frequent standing and walking; occasional bending, lifting, pushing, and stretching
- Ability to assist with patient positioning and transfers
- Manual dexterity for computer use, equipment handling, and clinical tasks
- Ability to function effectively in stressful or urgent clinical situations
- Established and respected medical practice in the Las Vegas Valley
