Patient Service Specialist

Status: Full‑Time

Hours: Must be open/flexible 8am‑6pm Monday‑Friday

Location: 9970 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV

Company: Dignity Health, Outpatient Center

Pay Range: $18‑20 per hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities
  • Greets patients with exceptional customer service to create a positive patient experience
  • Answers phone
  • Utilize medical office software to schedule new and follow‑up appointments for patients
  • Insurance verifications, referrals and pre‑authorizations
  • Schedules patients appointments and checks them in at arrival
  • Collection of co‑pays
  • Daily cash balancing and weekly banking deposits
  • Patient intake and data entry to ensure proper billing
  • Complete daily billing reports and work with central billing office (CBO)
  • Communication and teamwork with clinic staff as well as all supporting departments to create an enjoyable, seamless experience
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • HS diploma or GED is required
Preferred Experience
  • Customer service experience required
  • Knowledge of insurance verification preferred
  • Healthcare, Medical, Dental office administration preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout a work day/shift
  • Appropriate manual dexterity to enable typing (including 10‑key) throughout a work day/shift
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics
  • Ability to carry office supplies up to 10 lbs
  • Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written direction
  • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions
