Position Overview

The Vice President is responsible for the efficient operations of ambulatory services, including all free‑standing clinics and hospital‑based clinics of WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center. The VP provides executive leadership and direction with an emphasis on business development, clinical integration, and oversight of financial and operational functions. Through the Ambulatory Service structure the VP manages the development of high‑quality, patient‑centered, cost‑effective, and integrated clinical programs, leads business plans to enhance the organization’s market position, and expands ambulatory services to increase volumes and revenues.

Overall responsibilities include outpatient services operations, collaboration with inpatient leadership to integrate services, and execution of a clinical and financial strategy that meets the needs of patients, physicians, the public, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (focused in Finance, Accounting, or related field) or Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration.
  • Seven years of related experience with a minimum of four years of executive or leadership experience in a health‑care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a multi‑specialty group practice plan.
  • Experience in physician contracting, negotiations, and compensation metrics.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and foster effective collaboration between clinical departments and divisions to ensure an integrated approach to providing services and fulfill organizational clinical goals.
  • Develop new business strategies to enhance market share and improve overall performance.
  • Work with the management team and medical leadership as a resource to improve access, reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve utilization and quality goals, and analyze data to support management decisions.
  • Lead and support key committees pertaining to ambulatory operations.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Participate in comprehensive patient safety and clinical quality performance improvement planning for Ambulatory Services.
  • Assist in development and assessment of employment vehicles for providers, ensuring coordination, compliance, and appropriate onboarding.
  • Collaborate with WVU Health System Leadership, WVU Medicine Leadership, WVSOM, SMG, and WVU Health Sciences to implement well‑balanced clinical programs for success of WVU Medicine CCMC.
  • Establish an effective operating and capital budget process in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Maintain benchmark‑based operating budgets for ambulatory operations.
  • Build on existing benchmarks and targets to assess programmatic gains and demonstrate impact of services.
  • Take overall responsibility for ambulatory care revenue and expense forecasting; contribute to organization‑wide forecasting with the CFO.
  • Collaborate with executive management to produce programmatic and financial analysis for new business opportunities and proposal development.
  • Support the Executive Leadership Group in clinician recruitment analysis, including needs, financial impact, and funding requirements.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include Director of Ambulatory Services, Senior Business Managers, and Director of Wound Care.
