SummaryThe Senior Spatial Data Specialist is a key technical and strategic individual contributor. This role owns the design, development, and management of enterprise spatial data systems, standards, and services that centralize built‑environment data across AEC, media, and creative production teams. By bridging BIM, CAD, GIS, LiDAR, and 3D media environments, the Specialist ensures spatial data is captured, cataloged, and optimized for planning, visualization, and storytelling workflows.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Platform Strategy & Architecture
:
Design and direct the enterprise spatial data platform, set standards for formats, metadata, and interoperability, and establish governance for ingestion, version control, access, and archiving. - Data Capture & Vendor Leadership
:
Define best practices for environment capture workflows, lead vendor analysis and onboarding, and coordinate on‑site capture activities with regional teams. - Creative Enablement & Integration
:
Collaborate with Creative, Strategy, and Growth teams to deliver spatial data into platforms such as AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and Adobe tools; advise on spatial data applications to support concepting and storytelling. - Innovation & Emerging Technologies
:
Explore and implement AI‑assisted modeling, digital twins, AR/VR/MR, and spatial analytics; evaluate emerging AEC and spatial media technologies for future‑proofing capabilities.
- 7+ years in AEC data management, environment capture, or spatial media systems.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience required.
- Deep understanding of AEC and spatial formats (Revit, DWG, OBJ, USD, 3
DGS, etc.) and BIM/GIS integration. - Experience with 3D scanning workflows, LiDAR, and asset management platforms.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional and vendor teams to operationalize new systems and standards.
- Strong knowledge of metadata design, taxonomy, and data governance.
- Familiarity with AI/ML for spatial data processing, segmentation, or classification.
- Understanding of cloud data architectures (AWS, Snowflake) and spatial data APIs.
Travel up to 25%.
