Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to support the NNSA in protecting the nation’s nuclear security infrastructure. This is a contract to hire opportunity based out of Las Vegas, Nevada for early-career professionals with active high-level clearances to gain experience in real-world deployments, troubleshooting, and tool integration on multi-million-dollar contracts. As a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer, you’ll assist in building and securing critical infrastructure for federal SOC and engineering environments.
Responsibilities- Deploy and integrate cybersecurity tools and technologies to support real-world mission‑critical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve security issues, ensuring compliance with federal security standards and frameworks.
- Support automation and scripting tasks to enhance security operations and streamline deployments.
- Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining security infrastructure for federal SOC and engineering environments.
- 2+ years in cybersecurity or related IT fields.
- Strong understanding of network and system security.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation.
- BA/BS degree (or equivalent).
Clearance:
Active “Q” or Top Secret (TS) Clearance (must be current and transferable).
- Strong understanding of network and system security.

- Experience with security tools and technologies.
- Target salary: $90,000 (depending on years of experience).
