IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing day‑to‑day technical support to employees, ensuring the efficient operation of IT systems and hardware. This role focuses on troubleshooting, assisting with IT‑related issues, and maintaining IT infrastructure while ensuring employees have the necessary tools to perform their work effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance via phone, email, and in‑person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Assist with setting up and managing user accounts, email configurations, and access permissions.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting for network‑related issues (Wi‑Fi, VPN, LAN, etc.).
  • Support IT asset management, including inventory tracking, procurement assistance, and equipment setup.
  • Provide training and support to employees on common software applications and IT best practices.
  • Document support requests, solutions, and maintain an internal IT knowledge base.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and assist in implementing security protocols.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, software updates, and patch management.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for troubleshooting hardware or software issues beyond internal capabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1‑3 years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
  • Proficiency with Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi troubleshooting, etc.).
  • Experience with enterprise applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and collaboration tools.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a customer‑service‑oriented approach.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively support end‑users.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
