About the Role

The EPM Lead / Senior Engineer is accountable for the stability, governance, and evolution of the Oracle EPM Cloud platform
. This role combines hands‑on technical execution with platform ownership and leadership
, ensuring a smooth transition from system integrator (SI) build to steady‑state operations.

The role will initially operate in a hybrid capacity
—executing critical technical work while establishing standards, automation, and governance—then progressively shift toward a Lead / Platform Owner model as the environment matures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the Oracle EPM platform as a service, ensuring availability, performance, security, and alignment with Finance business cycles.
  • Act as the primary technical point of accountability for EPM across Finance, IT, Oracle, and external partners.
  • Define and execute EPM platform strategy, including environment topology, refresh cadence, release readiness, and cutover planning.
  • Lead post‑SI transition activities, ensuring operational continuity and knowledge retention.
Hands‑On Technical Execution (Initial Focus)
  • Snapshot management
  • Quarterly update readiness
  • Build, maintain, and enhance EPM Automate and REST‑based automation for:
  • Refreshes
  • Backups
  • Deployments
  • Troubleshoot EPM performance, integration, and availability issues, coordinating with Oracle Support as needed.
  • Support EPM integrations with ERP and other enterprise systems, including validation during releases and close cycles.
Release, Change & Update Governance
  • Lead quarterly Oracle EPM update planning, impact assessment, testing coordination, and production go/no‑go decisions.
  • Govern EPM migration and release processes, including:
  • Regression testing standards
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to align releases with close, forecast, and budget cycles.
  • Define and maintain EPM backup, recovery, and DR strategy.
  • Validate recovery readiness through periodic testing and documentation.
  • Own incident response for EPM, serving as escalation lead during critical business periods.
  • Support audit, compliance, and control requirements related to EPM operations.
Governance, Standards & Documentation
  • Establish and enforce EPM platform standards, including:
  • Access and role models
  • Refresh and cloning protocols
  • Maintain operational runbooks, dashboards, and platform documentation.
  • Track and report platform health, incidents, and release readiness metrics.
  • Partner with ERP, HCM, SCM, OCI, and integration teams to ensure end‑to‑end platform stability.
  • Guide and mentor internal engineers or administrators supporting EPM.
  • Enable Dev Ops and CI/CD practices for EPM by defining standards and tooling patterns, while executing where needed.
Skills & Experience Required
  • 7+ years supporting enterprise financial systems, including Oracle EPM Cloud
    .
  • Strong hands‑on experience with:
  • EPM Automate / REST APIs
  • Environment refreshes and quarterly updates
  • Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous, post‑implementation environments.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical teams and Finance stakeholders.
Preferred
  • Experience with Oracle ERP Cloud integrations.
  • Familiarity with OCI fundamentals (networking, identity, connectivity).
  • Prior experience transitioning platforms from SI‑led build to internal ownership.
  • Exposure to Dev Ops, automation, or CI/CD practices in SaaS platforms.
