The EPM Lead / Senior Engineer is accountable for the stability, governance, and evolution of the Oracle EPM Cloud platform
. This role combines hands‑on technical execution with platform ownership and leadership
, ensuring a smooth transition from system integrator (SI) build to steady‑state operations.
The role will initially operate in a hybrid capacity
—executing critical technical work while establishing standards, automation, and governance—then progressively shift toward a Lead / Platform Owner model as the environment matures.
- Own the Oracle EPM platform as a service, ensuring availability, performance, security, and alignment with Finance business cycles.
- Act as the primary technical point of accountability for EPM across Finance, IT, Oracle, and external partners.
- Define and execute EPM platform strategy, including environment topology, refresh cadence, release readiness, and cutover planning.
- Lead post‑SI transition activities, ensuring operational continuity and knowledge retention.
- Snapshot management
- Quarterly update readiness
- Build, maintain, and enhance EPM Automate and REST‑based automation for:
- Refreshes
- Backups
- Deployments
- Troubleshoot EPM performance, integration, and availability issues, coordinating with Oracle Support as needed.
- Support EPM integrations with ERP and other enterprise systems, including validation during releases and close cycles.
- Lead quarterly Oracle EPM update planning, impact assessment, testing coordination, and production go/no‑go decisions.
- Govern EPM migration and release processes, including:
- Regression testing standards
- Partner with Finance stakeholders to align releases with close, forecast, and budget cycles.
- Define and maintain EPM backup, recovery, and DR strategy.
- Validate recovery readiness through periodic testing and documentation.
- Own incident response for EPM, serving as escalation lead during critical business periods.
- Support audit, compliance, and control requirements related to EPM operations.
- Establish and enforce EPM platform standards, including:
- Access and role models
- Refresh and cloning protocols
- Maintain operational runbooks, dashboards, and platform documentation.
- Track and report platform health, incidents, and release readiness metrics.
- Partner with ERP, HCM, SCM, OCI, and integration teams to ensure end‑to‑end platform stability.
- Guide and mentor internal engineers or administrators supporting EPM.
- Enable Dev Ops and CI/CD practices for EPM by defining standards and tooling patterns, while executing where needed.
- 7+ years supporting enterprise financial systems, including Oracle EPM Cloud
. - Strong hands‑on experience with:
- EPM Automate / REST APIs
- Environment refreshes and quarterly updates
- Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous, post‑implementation environments.
- Strong communication skills with both technical teams and Finance stakeholders.
- Experience with Oracle ERP Cloud integrations.
- Familiarity with OCI fundamentals (networking, identity, connectivity).
- Prior experience transitioning platforms from SI‑led build to internal ownership.
- Exposure to Dev Ops, automation, or CI/CD practices in SaaS platforms.
