A software development organization is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to support a high-performance engineering environment. This is not a traditional systems administration role: the ideal candidate understands how cloud services, virtualization, networking, security, and automation work together, and can explain not just what infrastructure decisions do, but why they're made and how they impact reliability, security, and the business.
What you'll do- Administer Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
- Manage VMware vSphere environments
- Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Oversee network infrastructure, firewalls, and security
- Handle endpoint management and security
- Build Power Shell automation and drive process improvement
- Support Dev/Test environments for software development teams
- Manage infrastructure monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery
- Experience with Azure and Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing, and firewalls
- Endpoint security and systems administration experience
- Power Shell scripting and automation experience
- Windows and Linux server administration experience
- CI/CD and Dev Ops exposure
- Git Hub or Jira integrations experience
- Docker or Kubernetes experience
- SQL Server administration experience
- Familiarity with AI-assisted automation tools
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and taking ownership across multiple disciplines, understanding how these systems work together rather than specializing narrowly in just one area.
