The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate spare parts inventory to support plant operations. This role ensures proper identification, sourcing, tracking, and availability of machine parts while maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards. The position works closely with Maintenance, Purchasing, and Production teams to ensure seamless operations across all facilities.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe individual in this role must be able to perform the following duties with or without reasonable accommodation:
Support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP standards to ensure a safe, sanitary, and compliant workplace.
Maintain accurate physical and computerized inventory of all equipment parts.
Ensure adequate inventory levels to support production and maintenance operations.
Update inventory records as parts are received, issued, or transferred.
Generate reports for inventory usage and provide documentation for lost or missing items.
Identify and research machine parts for purchasing and assist in sourcing.
Work with vendors and internal Purchasing Department to obtain pricing, place orders, and coordinate deliveries.
Pick, pack, and ship parts between Sofidel facilities and to outside vendors as needed.
Track and manage inventory budgets and investigate variances.
Maintain spare parts warehouses and ensure optimal use of all storage areas.
Develop and update inventory procedures and provide training when necessary.
Utilize SAP to manage all spare parts inventory operations.
Travel to other facilities as required.
Additional ResponsibilitiesAssist with plant operations to ensure workflow and schedules are maintained.
Identify unusual equipment issues and report to supervision.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
Participate in meetings and cross-functional teams.
Perform related duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Basic computer skills required. Inventory, warehouse, or maintenance experience preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and internal procedures.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to lift and carry parts as needed.
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout warehouse and plant environments.
This position works in both warehouse and manufacturing environments and may require exposure to industrial elements such as sound, machinery, dust, and temperature changes.
