APRN/Physician Assistant-Gastroenterology
Join UNLV Health as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Gastroenterology. Work in our Internal Medicine ambulatory clinic with faculty, residents, and students.
Base pay range $/yr – $/yr. Actual pay depends on skills and experience.
- Diagnose patients, order laboratory tests, prescribe medication, and manage health conditions.
- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and assessment services in hospital and office settings.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions and provide education, disease prevention, and perioperative instruction.
- See patients independently and in collaboration with physicians.

Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM (actual hours may vary). - 12 paid holidays per year, starting with first day of employment.
- 20 + PTO days per year (depending on position).
- 3 % 401(k) contribution, even if you do not contribute.

- Minimum of 2 years experience with gastroenterology.
- Nevada Pharmacy and DEA license.
- BLS certification.
- Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or PA program with a master’s degree.
- License in Nevada as a APRN or ability to obtain one prior to start date.
- Valid driver’s license.
- APRNs:
Masters degree in Nursing, current unrestricted NV NP license, minimum 5 years nursing experience in clinic, 2 years NP experience, minimum 3 years supervisory experience. - PAs:
Masters degree in PA studies, current unrestricted PA license from Nevada Medical Board, NCCPA certification.
- Collaborate with physicians, administration, nursing, and other team members to facilitate patient care.
- Exercise independent judgment in assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of medical processes.
- Perform and document comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, including emergency therapy as needed.
- Formulate diagnoses, identify problems and health risk profiles, and communicate clearly with team.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies with peers.
- Assume proactive role in patient/family education and satisfaction.
- Use high-quality, patient satisfaction‑directed interactions to enhance experience.
- Provide compassionate and respectful interactions with patients and families.
- Participate in staff, student, and resident training, and assist the department chair, pediatric surgery division chief, or supervisors as requested.
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
- Perform repetitive tasks.
- Work with challenging patients and clients.
- Lift up to 25 pounds.
