Emergency Department Nurse Manager (RN) Overview
We seek an experienced and dynamic Emergency Department Nurse Manager (RN) to lead the 24/7 operations of a busy emergency department in the Southern Nevada region
. The Nurse Manager will provide leadership and direction to nursing and clinical staff, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient emergency care delivery in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment.
This position requires an accomplished nursing leader with proven skills in team management, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Nurse Manager reports directly to the Director of Emergency Services and partners closely with physicians, hospital administration, and other department leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 24‑hour leadership and operational management for the Emergency Department.
- Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate emergency care that meets all clinical and regulatory standards.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management of nursing and support staff.
- Collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership to drive patient flow, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction.
- Implement evidence‑based practices and lead quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Manage department budgets, supplies, and resources efficiently.
- Foster a positive and accountable work environment that supports professional development and staff engagement.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, survey readiness, and adherence to hospital and state guidelines.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred. - Licensure: Active and unrestricted Nevada RN license (maintained in good standing).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in emergency or critical care nursing and 1–2 years of progressive leadership or management experience in an acute care environment.
- Certifications:
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- TNCC and ENPC preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills with the ability to manage high‑performing teams under pressure.
