Nurse Practitioner, Convenience Care - LV Tropicana Family Medicine Clinic - Full Time 12 Hour Rotating Shift (Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide direct patient care in a convenience clinic setting, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and prescribing appropriate interventions and medications in accordance with evidence‑based clinical practice standards. The NP will lead clinical activities, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support operational flow of patient care.

• Directly performs or orders appropriate diagnostic studies and interprets finished results.
• Develops and implements long‑ and short‑term treatment plans.
• Performs procedures such as obtaining specimens, injections, immunizations, skin biopsies, suturing, wound care, and trauma or infection‑related management.
• Writes orders to increase, decrease, or change medication, subject to physician checking and counter‑signing.
• Initiates consultations and monitors scheduling of patients for special tests.
• Updates and summarizes patient charts, adjusts orders when appropriate, and notifies the responsible physician of changes in the patient’s condition.
• Instructs and counsels patients and families regarding preventive care, medical problems, psychological issues, and prescribed treatments.
• Acts as liaison with governmental agencies such as the CDC and NIHS, assists with research projects, follows protocols, and obtains IRB approval for treatment protocols.
• Researches community resources for patient referrals and directs patients to appropriate resources based on medical needs.
• Maintains compliance with university and department policies, quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control, and accreditation and regulatory agency requirements.
• Participates in in‑service education programs and professional associations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Five years of clinical nursing experience.
• Excellent communication skills; able to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow, and perform duties successfully.

• Bilingual in Spanish, with ability to communicate effectively with Spanish‑speaking individuals.

• Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing (NV NSBN).
• Nurse Practitioner license (NP) issued by NV NSBN.
• Board Certified NP with one of the following certifications: ACNP, ANP, FNP, or AGNP.
• DEA Certificate for Schedule II‑V controlled substances with an unrestricted Nevada address.
• Valid Nevada Board of Pharmacy license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Radiation Life Support (ARLS) certification required upon hire or within 30 days.
• USC Credentialing obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) obtained within 30 days if not already held.
