About the Opportunity
Associate Project-Level Biologist – La Vegas, NV. This regular (full‑time), hourly, non‑exempt field role requires 90% of the time spent in the field.

- Conduct biological natural resource field surveys collecting observational and spatial data concerning vegetation, terrestrial, and/or avian species. Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS units, and related tools to determine exact project locations, habitat types, and associated landforms.
- Complete biological survey reports, data entry, impact assessment, and assist with Endangered Species Act, wetland delineations, and/or Clean Water Act permitting. Conduct relevant research and support proposal development.
- Adhere to the safety program and promote safety for all team members, promptly communicating and mitigating hazards.
- Use radio‑telemetry to track Mojave desert tortoise, including work in rugged terrain.
- Perform compliance monitoring for construction projects, including pre‑construction avian and desert tortoise surveys.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related life‑sciences field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience completing biological surveys, fieldwork, habitat assessments, wetland delineations, and/or construction monitoring.
- Prior experience with GIS software (Arc Pad), Trimble GPS units, and ability to use technology for data collection.
- Demonstrated experience preparing technical documents.
- Physical ability to travel, walk, and conduct long hours in the field, including inclement weather, rugged terrain, at high altitudes, and to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
- Adherence to the safety program and promotion of safety for others.
- Experience in the Southwest United States.
- Knowledge of desert tortoise habitat in Clark County.
- Vegetation survey, wildlife surveys, measurement experience, or wetland delineation experience.
Hourly wage ranging from $31.20 to $40.04 for an Associate Project Biologist.
