This high-guest-contact position requires an approachable, friendly, and polished demeanor with a guest-focused mindset. The Security Officer will perform duties to ensure the safety and security of guests, owners, and team members, protect the company’s assets, and maximize the amount of safety and security provided for guests and team members, while serving as a deterrent to crime and violations of company policy.

Security Officers serve as first responders to any guest or team member injury and/or accident, and play an integral role in curtailing workplace injuries. They will ensure the guests' expectations are exceeded throughout their entire stay and will create customer delight in every interaction.

Essential Duties and Tasks
  • Be an ambassador of goodwill and provide outstanding guest service to all visitors and employees of the resort. Greet guests warmly, offer advice and guidance regarding the resort. Ensure all guests (be they owners, overnight, recreational, or business related) receive directions on how to reach their intended destinations.
  • Assist with lockouts, malfunctioning keys, and other operational issues. Identify and engage any suspicious person(s) who may interrupt the orderly operation of the resort while limiting liability.
  • Patrol the resort to ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, and assets. Take the immediate and necessary steps to correct any safety hazards and cleanliness issues while responding to all hazards – manmade, technological, or natural – as outlined in the department emergency response procedures.
  • Act as first responder to all guest and team member accidents and injuries on the property. Administer first aid, contact emergency services if required. Secure First Report of Injury in the case of team member injuries; assist with the drug and alcohol testing of team members when appropriate.
  • Field all security calls and dispatch accordingly. Liaise with emergency services when appropriate. Escalate issues in a timely and professional manner to the relevant Manager or Director. Input and maintain necessary computer files, including security reports, using reporting software.
Education and/or Experience
  • Strong customer service background
  • 6 months of Security, Hotel, or customer service experience with high customer contact preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Obtain and maintain a current First Aid, CPR, and AED certificate as required, and render this medical attention when needed.
  • Must obtain LV Metropolitan Non-Gaming Sheriff's Work Card.
  • Obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness Card.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Have a guest-focused posture and attitude.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the resort layout, activities, functions, fire, and emergency disaster procedures.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Possess a positive attitude with a mature demeanor.
  • Initiative and drive to maintain resort and Security Services department standards.
  • Must be able to use good judgment when addressing a given problem, followed by creative solutions and the initiative to complete the work.
  • Strong knowledge of standard safety protocols.
  • Must have flexible availability as shifts may vary.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
