Position: Technician I - Structured Cabling - Las Vegas

Job Summary

Communications Technician I (Structured Cabling) – works as part of a technical team with 0-1 year experience.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install work area outlets for floor, modular furniture, and wall; route and terminate cable using fish tape or other methods.
  • Build closets: mount and install backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware; install grounding as required.
  • Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, pull cable through sleeves and core penetration.
  • Terminate low‑voltage devices.
  • Complete all IES commercial paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers).
  • Adhere to company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Tools
  • Screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves.
  • Trade tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade.
Physical & Mental Requirements
  • Ability to work in indoor or outdoor construction environments.
  • Self‑motivated, positive professional approach; committed to project process improvement.
  • Promote company culture to all employees, vendors, clients, partners.
  • Proven problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills; effective reading, writing, oral presentations.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents; excellent color vision, small print reading, audible signal recognition.
  • Work at heights, off a ladder, confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs, move up to 75 lbs.
  • Travel within branch or regional territory as needed.
  • Regular attendance mandatory.
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 0-1 year experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic construction industry knowledge preferred.
  • Basic tool skills and ability to learn listed tools.
Compensation

USD $18.00/hr – $22.00/hr.
