General Job Description
IES Residential, Inc. is a long‑standing Preferred Premier Subcontractor for Cox Communications, with over 18 years of experience in Nevada. We are hiring motivated individuals to join our growing team as Cable Technicians serving Las Vegas, Henderson, Spring Valley, Paradise, and surrounding areas.
No prior cable experience required – we provide paid training.
What You’ll Do- Install, service, reconnect, and troubleshoot:
- Cable TV
- High‑Speed Internet
- Telephone Services
- Fiber to the Home (FTTH)
- Home Automation & Cox Home Life Security
- Educate customers on services and equipment
- Promote additional Cox products and solutions
- Deliver excellent customer service as a front‑line brand representative
- Perform work to IES quality and productivity standards

Qualifications:
Background check and drug screening (required),
Valid state driver’s license with a good driving record (required), 21 years of age preferred, but not required – must be able to obtain a Sheriff Card and/or LVMPD License.
- 1+ year of experience in a comparable hands‑on field such as construction trades, mechanics, semi‑skilled manufacturing, or other related technical or trade roles
- 1+ year of direct customer service experience
- Basic PC and Windows software skills
- Stable work history
- Ability to work required shifts and overtime as needed
- Ability to work 10–12+ hour days
- Willingness to work a flexible, non‑traditional schedule, including 5–6 day work weeks
- Strong communication skills; ability to work effectively with customers and team members
- Spanish language skills a plus in some locations
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Post‑high school education a plus
- Prior experience in construction, mechanics, manufacturing, or other hands‑on trade roles
- Ability to carry and operate tools and equipment
- Ability to inspect, install, repair, and document materials and equipment
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to distinguish different wire colors
- Ability to communicate in person and by telephone
- Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, and kneel
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, including carrying and positioning a 28‑foot extension ladder
- Ability to climb ladders and/or utility poles and work at heights
- Ability to work in confined spaces (crawl spaces and attics)
- Ability to tolerate temporary exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme non‑weather‑related heat
