The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

As part of the Software team in Las Vegas, you will focus on building and operating the Vegas Loop, a 78 miles and 108 stations underground transportation system.

• Architect and implement high quality code for safety critical controls to run all aspects of the Vegas Loop traffic controls.
• Iterate and optimize the traffic control algorithms to achieve maximum system efficiency.
• Design and develop software to automate Vegas Loop operations.
• Provide troubleshooting support during Vegas Loop operational hours.

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience building and maintaining backend systems in C, C++, Go, or Rust.
• Solid understanding of computer networking, including TCP/IP, sockets, and HTTP.
• Experience with concurrent programming and/or distributed systems.
• Experience with designing and testing algorithms to solve computational problems.
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
• Strong independent debugging and quantitative reasoning skills.

• Strong knowledge of relational databases (Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, etc.), including experience with database schema design, query optimization, and data management best practices.
• Background in cybersecurity and secure coding practices.
• Experience writing code for safety critical and real-time systems.
• Experience with iOS development.

Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary.
