Automation and API Testing:
Perform and oversee various types of testing including functional, mobile testing, compatibility, and ADA testing, UX testing (optional), regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for credit card applications.

Conduct API testing to validate data flows and interactions between different services and components of front and back end.

Execute and review test cases, report bugs using bug tracking tools like JIRA.

Seeking an experienced and dynamic Automation QA Tester with expertise in API testing, specifically within the banking domain.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products through comprehensive manual and API testing. This role demands a deep understanding of banking credit card processes, and a proven track record in quality assurance.

• Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases based on project requirements and user stories.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and user expectations.
• Provide release demos to business stakeholders.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend APIs and integration layers.
• Perform API testing using Postman, REST Assured, and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
• Validate and verify RESTful APIs using various HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE).
• Implement automated API tests for functional, regression, and performance validation.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using Git Lab and Jenkins.
• Collaborate closely with developers, Dev Ops, and QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Write and maintain test cases, test data, and test reports with clear traceability.
• Review and analyze API contracts (Swagger/OpenAPI) to ensure alignment with implementation.
• Use SQL/Postgre
  
  SQL to validate backend data and ensure data integrity.
• Troubleshoot automation scripts and assist in debugging complex issues.
• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and QA process improvements.

• API Testing & Automation
  • Hands‑on experience with Postman, REST Assured, and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
  • Strong understanding of JSON and XML data formats.
  • Solid knowledge of HTTP methods and status codes.
  • Experience building and maintaining API automation frameworks.
• Test Frameworks & Build Tools
  • Experience with TestNG or JUnit for test execution and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Database Skills
  • Strong SQL skills for validating backend data (preferably Postgre
    
    SQL).
  • Experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools such as Git Lab and Jenkins.
  • Understanding of API Gateway integrations and API deployment workflows.
  • Proficient with Git for version control and code collaboration.
• Programming & Scripting
  • Proficiency in Java (preferred) or equivalent programming language for automation scripting.
  • Experience with scripting for test data generation and validation.

• Solid understanding of software testing principles, SDLC, and STLC.
• Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Passion for quality, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to QA best practices.

• Exposure to Performance Testing tools (e.g., JMeter) is a plus.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience testing microservices and distributed architectures.
