Software Development Engineer, iOS, Zappos Discovery Tech - Mobile

This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing customer‑facing and enterprise mobile applications for both iOS and Android. You will work with technologies such as Swift, Objective‑C, Kotlin, Java, Swift

UI, and Jetpack Compose to deliver high‑quality, user‑friendly apps.

• Combination of education and experience considered.
• Authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum eight (8) years of mobile development experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of testing and debugging on either iOS or Android platforms, plus at least two (2) years on the other platform.
• Minimum two (2) years each of Swift, Objective‑C, Kotlin, Java, Swift
  
  UI, Jetpack Compose.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively cross‑functionally; creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and drive to achieve results.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to follow instructions and interact with customers.
• Maintain regular attendance subject to leave, PTO, and attendance policies.

• Apply computer science fundamentals (OOP, MVC, MVVM) and design patterns.
• Develop mobile applications that integrate with Graph
  
  QL and REST APIs.
• Follow established guidelines to perform job functions effectively.
• Understand and apply best practices in mobile software development.
• Maintain working knowledge of client/server architecture.
• Use programming languages (Swift, Objective‑C, Kotlin, Java) and version control tools like Git, Gitflow.
• Work with Swift
  
  UI, Jetpack Compose, Combine, Promise Kit, Alamofire, Swift Generics, Cocoapods, Swift Package Manager, Test Flight, Firebase.
• Take ownership of projects independently or as part of a small development team.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills and a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
• Interpret and execute technical plans accurately.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ensure direct reports understand and apply customer commitment and service standards.
• Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and leadership.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Work requires standing, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and operating a computer, keyboard, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. May require various shifts/days in a 24‑hour situation. Regular attendance required. Exposure to moderate noise, temperature, and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area or sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.

Some travel may be required.
