Instruction

• Prepare and deliver course descriptions, lesson plans, lectures, and laboratory work.
• Implement active learning techniques.
• Create and grade assessments; develop learning materials.
• Participate in curriculum development and program assessments.
• Assist in hiring and scheduling part-time instructors.
• Supervise, advise, and tutor students; monitor progress.
• Operate relevant equipment and perform related tasks in construction education.
• Coordinate student tutoring and recruitment efforts.
• Build relationships with industry partners.
• Participate in committees, workshops, and conferences.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Adult learning theory, curriculum development, teaching techniques.
• Advising strategies.
• Research methods and resource utilization in technical education.
• Supervisory and coaching principles.
• Supervision of students in work settings.

• Occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds; frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds; standing at least 70% of the time.
• Close visual acuity for data analysis, reading, and computer work.
• Potential evening and weekend work.
• No significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

• Certifications/experience in construction; 2 years of practice or 5 years total experience.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
