This Senior Financial Coordinator position serves as the NMBHI Cashier and plays a primary role in offering great customer service to our facility, vendors, clients, and patients. The cashier is responsible for receiving, reviewing, processing, and balancing various financial transactions relating to Patient Trust accounts, Special Fund accounts, Burial Fund accounts, and General Fund account. These transactions include account receivables, accounts payable, daily deposits, petty cash fund withdrawals, daily cash drawer balancing, and monthly Patient trust Direct Deposits/Care & Support.
This position will provide internal and external customer service. This position will ensure that all accounts are maintained accurately in accordance with established laws, policies and procedures.
- Maintain and balance a cash drawer and petty cash fund, balancing daily. Document financial transactions on a daily log and prepare purchase order for replenishment of funds.
- Issue receipts and complete deposits within 24 hours of receiving payment.
- Review fund distributions, invoices, and purchase orders for accuracy and adequacy of supporting documentation.
- Verify balances in accounts prior to distributing funds.
- Process and post bi-weekly Patient Work Therapy to patient accounts.
- Accepts, maintains custody of, and oversees disposition of patients' personal items.

Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is self-motivated and takes a positive and professional approach to their role. This candidate has a business or accounting related educational background; has demonstrated analytical and communication skill; is well organized; and has an aptitude for administrative management and financial operations. The ideal candidate has experience in cash and reconciliation transactions and a knowledge of the SHARE FINANCIAL system.
This candidate has excellent time management skills with the ability to work in a heavy volume environment with multiple and diverse groups of clients and is a confident communicator.
Experience in providing excellent customer service.
Experience with building strong/productive working relationships.
Experience with conflict resolution and interacting with the public.
Experience with organizing daily operations and providing feedback to senior management.
Minimum QualificationHigh School diploma or Equivalency and one (1) year of experience in bill collection, bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment RequirementsMust possess a current driver's license.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. This position will perform work in a behavioral health setting to include prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending & lifting.
