The Staff Pad has partnered with a hospital in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to hire an
Advanced Patient Care Technician (APCT). This an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated healthcare team and make a direct impact on patient care in the emergency department.
- Greet, evaluate, and assist patients with necessary care needs.
- Document patient conditions and treatments while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff to provide safe, timely, and competent care.
- Deliver emergency care within scope of practice, including:
- Vital signs
- Point-of-care testing
- Phlebotomy
- EKGs
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Other emergency management tasks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment.
- Provide one-on-one observation for patients when needed, including those at risk of self-harm.
- Answer phones, coordinate transfers, and perform additional duties aligned with hospital policies and state scope of practice.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited EMT program.
- Current state certification or license required.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (upon hire or within 90 days).
- Flexible schedule — weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts required.
- Ability to work full-time (36 hours per week) with 12-hour shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m. or 7 p.m.–7 a.m.).
- Minimum of one year of direct medical clinical experience preferred.
- Strong service excellence skills to support quality patient care and satisfaction.
- Ability to prioritize patient needs based on severity.
- Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and independently as needed.
- Proficiency with Windows-based software and EMR systems.
- Commitment to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 35 lbs, and utilize proper body mechanics.
