Technical Training Instructor – Tesla – Lathrop, CA

What to ExpectThe Lathrop Megafactory team invites an experienced Technical Training Instructor who will develop, deliver, and refine engaging technical content in a dynamic, manufacturing‑defining environment. The role touches classroom instruction, field facilitation, program design, and cross‑functional collaboration while maintaining a rigorous learning ecosystem in the new Energy platform.
Responsibilities- Develop high‑quality, engaging technical content and test‑bench demonstrations in collaboration with factory subject‑matter experts.
- Design, build, and maintain high‑fidelity hands‑on lab equipment and interactive exercises for instructor‑led training.
- Deliver equipment‑specific training to maintenance technicians and engineers using varied instructional formats, assess effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
- Maintain learner records, certifications, and compliance documentation in Tesla’s Learning Management System.
- Mentor training coordinators and support cross‑functional teams in implementing training initiatives.
- Maintain training equipment and simulation tools, ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Lead the technical training department at MFCA, collaborating with all manufacturing sites in Energy to align initiatives and standardize best practices.
- Two years of industrial technical maintenance/engineering experience.
- B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability.
- Proficiency in programming Fanuc robots; experience with Siemens/Allen Brady PLCs desirable.
- Knowledge of high‑voltage electrical cabinet design/construction preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high‑impact technical training programs with minimal resources.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Experience with TPM, CMMS, and preventative/predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Prior experience as a trainer or instructor, explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.

USD $54,000 – $97,200 annual salary plus cash, stock awards, and benefits. The total compensation may vary based on market location, experience, and other factors.
