Product Evaluation Systems (PES) assists commercial and industrial clients by providing materials testing services through our full-service testing laboratory. Our capabilities include metallurgy, mechanical testing, chemical testing, failure analysis, machining, and nondestructive testing. We cater our services to each client’s unique testing needs. Our experienced engineers, chemists, metallurgists, and technicians provide assistance to the additive manufacturing, aerospace, steel manufacturing, power generation, mining, and oil & gas industries, among others.
As part of the ATS family of companies, we can offer additional inspection, calibration, and consulting engineering capabilities when clients need a broader scope of services.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for conducting limited mechanical testing techniques per protocol and customer specifications. Position also provides general support to the Mechanical Testing department.
Responsibilities- Conduct basic and common testing techniques with proficiency, and within appropriate protocol for machine and customer specifications.
- Accurately determine test results, which can include pass/fail or material composition for research purposes.
- Utilize a variety of testing and analysis software.
- Prepare reports with test results by completing appropriate template.
- Perform failure testing on occasion as requested by customers.
- Perform ongoing general machine maintenance, and alert management of any machine repair needs that cannot be performed internally.
- Perform pre- and post-test measurements on specimens.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalency;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Experience/Other:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel) and Outlook.

- Incumbent must sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Incumbent will be required to use a computer with keyboard, telephone or handheld mobile device for extended periods of time, and office machinery as needed.
- Incumbent may frequently be required to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak English.
- Incumbent must be able to use tools including microscopes, saws, test frames, and basic hand tools.
- Position requires incumbent to wear personal protective equipment including gloves and safety glasses. Steel-toed boots are preferred.
- Shifts may vary.
- Incumbent may need to work outside core operating hours as requested.
- High school diploma or equivalency, Bachelor’s degree preferred
