Scope of Responsibilities
Oversees day‑to‑day operations of the Pharmacy department, trains and develops subordinate staff, estimates personnel needs, assigns work, meets completion dates, and interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies.
Job SummaryResponsible for implementation and adherence to the Kinney Standard of Practice as it relates to provision of the highest quality health care service to customers, and for overall of the Pharmacy Department.
Job Duties- Adhere to the Kinney Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions and serve customers.
- Perform all quality assurance steps to insure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed; report dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines.
- Adhere to all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
- Oversee initial submission, resubmission and collection of all third‑party claims.
- Manage and balance pharmacy inventory to ensure maximum turns while remaining in‑stock for customer needs; oversee transmitting, processing and receiving of orders to and from the Kinney Warehouse and additional suppliers as needed.
- Check pharmacy inventory for out‑dates and process all returns.
- Ensure prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines.
- Ensure in‑store pharmacy technology is used to its fullest potential to maximize return on investment and lifespan.
- Maintain outstanding customer service exhibited by all employees at all times.
- Ensure all loss‑prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations to Loss Prevention.
- Assist in implementation of all corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising and promotional programs.
- Maintain the pharmacy department so it is a clean, professional environment that protects customer and employee safety.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain awareness of developments in Pharmacy and Healthcare Services fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into practice.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient information.
- Facilitate communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
- Assist in the development of an annual pharmacy department operating budget and operate within budgetary guidelines.
- Interact with the Facility Manager regarding hiring practices, performance reviews and disciplinary actions of pharmacy personnel.
- Assign duties and assist in scheduling pharmacy staff to meet payroll and productivity budget guidelines.
- Train and develop all pharmacy department personnel and communicate corporate goals to them.
- Attend and actively participate in all Health Direct required training/management programs as requested by supervisor.
- Interface with auditors and outside agencies as needed.
- Ensure facilities comply with all state and federal regulations and requirements.
- Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum: BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacist.
- Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy.
- Ability to stand/walk throughout majority of shift.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic keyboarding skills.

The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience and education.
