The postholder will support young people with an Education,Healthand Care Plan (EHCP) to succeed in real workplace settings as part of a Supported Internship programme.

The purpose of the role is to enable interns to develop job skills,confidence and independence
, so they can progress towards sustained paid employment. Support is gradually reduced as independence increases.

The postholder will bridge the gap between education and employment,
focusing on skill-building and independence
. Support provided is time-limited and focused.

Key qualification, skills and experience

• Maths and English at secondary education level or demonstrate equivalent experience
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft word/excel/outlook/PowerPoint/databases and Share Point
• Experience supporting young people or adults with SEND and/oradditionalneeds
• Understanding of inclusive practice and reasonable adjustments
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
• Ability to prioritise and self-manage
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to influence, persuade and negotiate
• Good problem-solving skills
• Active listening skills
• Commitment to promoting independence and positive outcomes
• Ability to support individuals in real-world, workplace environments
