Overview
Supply Teaching Assistant (Primary) in Okehampton, Devon and surrounding areas. September start. Salary £92.56 - £95.00 per day. Hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (term-time only).
Your Role as a Supply Teaching AssistantWorking standard school hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, you will support primary school pupils across Okehampton and surrounding areas with their academic and social development.
Responsibilities- Assisting the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
- Working 1-on-1 or in small groups with pupils who need extra support in reading, writing, and maths.
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children from Reception to Year 6.
- Adapting quickly to different school environments and team dynamics.
You do not need a formal teaching qualification to apply, but experience working with young people is essential
. We highly value transferable skills from various backgrounds.
- Experience: Proven experience working with children or young people (e.g., in youth clubs, sports coaching, nurseries, care or volunteering).
- Hours: Ability to commit to the 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM schedule.

Excellent communication, patience, reliability, and a proactive "can-do" attitude. - Vetting: Must hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to process a new one through Randstad.
