The Role:

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Lead provides high-level clinical leadership and operational support to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health services for older persons. Working closely with the Team Leader, this role focuses on strategic development, resource management, and driving service improvements aligned with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, National Mental Health Standards, and relevant legislation.

  • Leadership & Strategic Direction:
    Guide the development and management of a comprehensive multidisciplinary community mental health team.
  • Resource & Change Management:
    Oversee human and physical resources and lead change initiatives to implement models of care and service policies.
  • Clinical Excellence:
    Ensure optimal clinical processes, improved client outcomes, and promote consumer and carer participation at all levels of service delivery.
You will need:
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively undertake a coordination/leadership role within a multidisciplinary community setting, including providing supervision and support to other staff as required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, and a capacity to contribute towards the introduction of the model of care within a community setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to manage and coordinate the clinical activities of a multidisciplinary community mental health team, with the ability to assist the Team Leader in relation to the effective management of human and physical resources
