About the role:

The Central Safeguarding Team shares safeguarding information with statutory partners to enable effective safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. CST researchers facilitate timely safeguarding interventions, aiming to reduce abuse incidences among children and vulnerable people.

Our CST researchers work across three locations as one team. Once trained, they handle safeguarding disclosures, assess lawfulness, and decide on disclosures, considering what, who, and whether to disclose. The role involves risk assessment and recording decisions using Force IT systems.

No prior safeguarding experience is required as training is provided. Candidates are encouraged to research safeguarding topics beforehand. Useful resources include:

  • Working together to safeguard children 2023: statutory guidance

  • The Care Act: safeguarding adults - SCIE

The majority of training is on-the-job. Initially, you will work full-time in Launceston to learn from experienced colleagues.

Working arrangement:

During training (up to 3 months), in-office presence is expected 5 days a week. Post-training, hybrid working is possible, with at least 60% of work time in the office (minimum 3 days/week). This may change based on management discretion, and applicants should be prepared to work in the office as required.
