Job DescriptionAre you experienced in designing and prototyping metasurfaces and devices for manipulating electromagnetic fields at RF and microwave frequencies? Do you have proficiency with computational electromagnetic tools like CST and COMSOL? Are you skilled in experiment design and RF hardware characterization? If so, we invite you to join our team at APL.
Our researchers focus on developing innovative solutions in microwave devices, materials, and systems, from computational modeling to real-world technologies. As an RF Researcher, your responsibilities will include designing, prototyping, fabricating metasurfaces, performing RF measurements, analyzing data, and collaborating with physicists, engineers, and technicians.
Qualifications- Hold (or will soon hold) a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
- Strong background in electromagnetic metasurfaces and RF components.
- Proficiency with electromagnetic simulation tools (CST, HFSS, COMSOL).
- Experience with RF hardware such as VNAs, antennas, spectrum analyzers.
- Interest in RF metasurface fabrication procedures.
- Proficiency in MATLAB or Python programming.
- Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred qualifications include experience in PCB layout, RF system building, reconfigurable surfaces, and broad RF application knowledge.
