Senior Weapons Integration System Engineer
Job location and posting details are described below.
OverviewDo you want to make critical contributions to how the US Navy performs Offensive Surface Warfare (OSuW)? Are you excited to understand how some of the world's most advanced military defense systems operate? We are looking for a highly technical senior systems engineer and specialist in system-of-systems (SoS) integration to support design and T&E (testing and evaluation) of combat systems on surface combatants.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of systems engineering, including standard processes for complex integrations, and will work on challenges between combat systems, hypersonic weapons systems, standard missiles, and sophisticated radar systems. You will join a team focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration with opportunities to help field and improve the next generation of combat systems for the fleet.
- Apply experience solving complex systems-of-systems integration problems for U.S. Navy programs (e.g., Zumwalt, AEGIS, SSDS) in a high-tempo environment.
- Be an authority on the command and control (C2) element as it applies to the surface warfare domain, including data flows, logical implementation, and interfaces enabling new kill-chains.
- Conduct deep, highly technical analysis to address SoS integration challenges and lead design work to solve emerging issues.
- Generate systems engineering products such as performance specifications, requirements, trade study reports, CONOPS, test and evaluation management plans, test plans and procedures, test schedules, and data collection plans for lab-based and shipboard testing.
- Prepare for and participate in technical interchange meetings, providing technical insight to contractor, government, and research laboratory participants.
- Lead collaboration with multi-agency partners to develop, review, and validate robust processes and logic for combat systems capabilities.
- Serve as a technical trusted agent to government sponsors, providing technical recommendations and guidance to acquisition decisions.
- B.S. in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Math or equivalent technical field.
- 7+ years of applied technical experience in Systems Engineering.
- 3+ years of direct experience in complex SoS engineering and integration, developing requirements, specifications, or interface documentation.
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of engineers.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time, as needed.
- Ability to obtain Interim Secret security clearance and ultimately a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship required; eligible for access to classified information after investigation.
- MS or PhD in Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of deep technical experience in Systems Engineering with proficiency in Model Based Systems Engineering.
- Experience in Precision Strike domain, TLAM/TSN, mission planning, or hypersonic weapons systems.
- Understanding of kill chains in precision strike or anti-air warfare.
- Experience with Link-16, CDL, CEC, unmanned surface vehicles, and end-to-end weapon engagement systems.
- Demonstrated initiative, energy, and organizational skills.
- Active Top Secret or higher security clearance.
