Senior Software Engineer

Position Requirements:

• 20+ years of software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or 4 additional years of relevant SWE experience in lieu of a degree).

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about solving complex problems, creating scalable systems, and shaping innovative solutions using cutting‑edge cloud and AI technologies.

In this role, you’ll be a key contributor on an integrated product development team, driving the full lifecycle of agile software design and development. You’ll help design, build, test, and deploy a full-featured service running across large‑scale compute clusters and AWS cloud infrastructure while continuously improving performance, reliability, and user experience.

• Lead and support all phases of agile software development, including design, development, testing, integration, and deployment.

• Build and optimize distributed systems running at scale across AWS and high-performance compute clusters.

• Apply advanced AI techniques—such as LLMs, RAG, and agentic AI—to enhance system capability and automation.

• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability through tuning, monitoring, and observability best practices.

• Support ongoing operations, sustainment, and enhancement of mission-critical services.

• Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and contribute to architectural decision‑making.

• Evaluate technical requirements, estimate effort, and create high-quality designs and documentation.

• Hands‑on experience with LLMs, RAG frameworks, and agentic AI systems.

• Deep understanding of AWS cloud architecture, services, SDKs, and APIs.

• Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Cloud Formation or Terraform.

• Experience with observability and search platforms (Elasticsearch, Open Search, etc.).

• Solid grounding in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.

• Strong Java development skills for distributed, networked, multi-threaded systems.

• Agile development experience with modern source control and collaboration tools.

• Strong Linux fundamentals and the ability to script in languages like Python, Ruby, or Perl.

• Familiarity with microservices architectures and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).

• Understanding of security and compliance best practices for cloud-native systems.
