Cyber Software Engineer, Senior Advisor

Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD! In this role, you will have the opportunity to support a program that provides Cyber Security and Data Management to critical Intelligence Community missions. Our software engineers are responsible for, but not limited to, the below tasks:

• Implements, tests, and operates advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture
• Performs on-going security testing and code review to improve software security
• Troubleshoots and debugs issues that arise
• Provides engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities
• Contributes to all levels of the architecture and maintains technical documentation
• Consults team members on secure coding practices
• Develops a familiarity with new tools and best practices.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required
• Twenty (20) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• A minimum six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent 8 years developing production software.
• Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful Service.
• Familiarity with cloud development techniques, resources, and tools.

Core Competencies and Skills:

• Experience in agile software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, problem diagnosis/resolution, and source code management practices & tools.
• Experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++ for distributed systems, with proficiency in networking, multi-threading and implementation of REST APIs.
• Experience with the Spring framework, messaging frameworks (Kafka, Rabbit
  
  MQ), streaming analytics (Apache Flink, Spark), management of containerized applications (Kubernetes).
• Experience with enabling tools (Git, Maven, Jira), Dev Ops (Bamboo, Jenkins, Git Lab CI/Pipelines), Continuous Monitoring (ELK Stack (Elastic Search, Logstash and Kibana), Nagios).
• Experience with Apache Hadoop, Apache Accumulo and Apache NiFi.
• Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, BASH, etc.).
• Experience with AWS Cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Cloud security, and Automation (AWS Lambda, Cloud Formation).

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
