About
The Role Join Peraton as a Senior Software Engineer and help safeguard the nation's most critical intelligence missions. We're seeking a passionate and experienced engineer to support our Cyber Intel team in Laurel, MD, where you'll play a key role in delivering advanced Cyber Security and Data Management solutions for the Intelligence Community. In this role, you'll work on cutting-edge challenges that directly impact national security-designing secure systems, strengthening mission resilience, and driving innovation in a highly collaborative environment.
What You'll Do As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
* Design, implement, test, and deploy advanced software security capabilities aligned with technical reference architectures
* Perform ongoing security testing and code reviews to continually enhance the security posture of mission-critical systems
* Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues across diverse software environments
* Develop engineering designs and new software solutions that proactively address emerging security threats
* Contribute to architecture decisions and maintain clear, thorough technical documentation
* Collaborate with team members and mentor others on secure coding and best practices
* Stay current with new technologies, tools, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement

Education and Experience Requirements:
* Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required
* Twenty (20) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
* Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree-Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects
* A minimum six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent 8 years developing production-Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful Service-Familiarity with cloud development techniques, resources, and tools.
Core Competencies and
Skills:
* Experience in agile software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, problem diagnosis/resolution, and source code management practices & tools.
* Experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++ for distributed systems, with proficiency in networking, multi-threading and implementation of REST APIs
