We are seeking an experienced Robotics Engineer to program, maintain, and optimize our industrial robotic systems. This role will focus on Motoman and Fanuc robots used in our manufacturing operations, requiring expertise in robot programming, integration, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities Robot Programming & Operation- Develop and optimize robot programs for Motoman and Fanuc systems using INFORM, KAREL, and teach‑pendant programming languages.
- Create and modify teach‑pendant programs for complex manufacturing tasks.
- Implement path planning and motion optimization to maximize cycle‑time efficiency.
- Program multi‑robot coordination and synchronization for collaborative operations.
- Integrate robotic systems with PLCs, HMIs, and manufacturing execution systems.
- Troubleshoot robot hardware, software, and network communication issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance including backup management, calibration, and mechanical inspections.
- Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems connected to robotic end‑effectors.
- Analyze production bottlenecks and implement robotic solutions to improve throughput.
- Design and specify end‑of‑arm tooling and fixtures for robotic applications.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI/RIA safety standards for industrial robots.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety zones, light curtains, and interlock systems.
- Train operators and technicians on safe robot operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of robot programs, configurations, and processes.
- Provide technical support for production teams during robot‑related downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new automation projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field; or equivalent combination of technical training and work experience in industrial robotics.
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience programming and maintaining industrial robots.
- Demonstrated experience with both Motoman and/or Fanuc robot systems (or similar platforms).
- Proficiency in robot programming languages (INFORM, KAREL, Teach Pendant programming).
- Strong understanding of robot kinematics, coordinate systems, and motion control.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Device Net, Profibus).
- Knowledge of PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
- Familiarity with vision systems integration for robot guidance.
- CAD software experience for fixture design and simulation (Solid Works, Inventor, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, material handling, assembly, palletizing, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Self‑motivated with ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects.
- Fanuc and/or Motoman certification.
- Experience with offline programming software (Robot Studio, Moto Sim, Robo Guide).
- Knowledge of servo systems, motion controllers, and drive systems.
- Experience with collaborative robots (cobots) and safety‑rated systems.
- Background in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Project management experience for automation installations.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Comfortable working at heights on platforms and ladders when accessing robots.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional weekends for system installations or critical repairs.
