Missile Defense Systems Engineer

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional engineering environment with a focus on the Department of Defense
• Proficiency in MATLAB for modeling, simulation, analysis, and visualization tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team setting
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Capability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance by start date and ultimately achieve a Top Secret clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship

• Contribute to the development and evaluation of Missile Defense systems – Model, analyze, and assess fielded systems while identifying improvement opportunities – Propose and design innovative concepts and algorithms to enhance capabilities – Conduct analysis for assessing potential performance of future systems – Prepare presentations to communicate technical recommendations to APL leadership and stakeholders – Foster a dynamic team culture by participating in collaborative activities and promoting core values of continual improvement and innovation
