Senior Missile Defense Systems Engineer

Requirements Must have:

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience with a focus on Department of Defense
• Demonstrated experience in leading complex, multi-disciplinary analytical projects
• Proficient in MATLAB, including Object-Oriented programming for modeling, simulation, and visualization
• Familiarity with version control software for collaborative MATLAB development
• Strong ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance and eventually a Top Secret clearance, with U.S. citizenship required

• Lead teams to write and utilize MATLAB for the design and evaluation of Missile Defense systems
• Model, analyze, and conduct performance assessments of existing and conceptual systems while identifying areas for enhancement
• Propose and create innovative concepts and algorithms to boost U.S. defense capabilities
• Develop presentations that clearly convey technical recommendations to APL leadership, governmental sponsors, and the engineering community
• Foster a dynamic team culture that adheres to core values through collaborative efforts and a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, high-quality products, and risk‑taking
