Social Services Director role at Mississippi Department of Employment Security

• Responsible for delivery of social services to residents and families
• Handle pre‑admission and admission interviews, inform residents and families of available services, resident rights, and responsibilities
• Prepare social histories for use by professional facility staff and participate in resident care conferences
• Handle problems of adjustment to the long‑term care facility environment, maintain frequent contact with residents and families, and serve as an advocate for patients
• Establish working relationships with community health, welfare, and volunteer groups
• Assist with arrangements for out‑of‑facility health care, transportation, and counseling services, if needed
• Assist residents and families with transitions in and out of the facility, connecting them with needed services
• Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance and proper tracking of resident progress and services

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and at least one year’s experience in Long Term Care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of healthcare regulations and resources
