Overview
Laurel Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Central Supply and Medical Records Coordinator
. This dual-role position is responsible for managing medical records in the facility’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) system while also overseeing central supply inventory, ordering, and budget adherence. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, maintains confidentiality, and effectively balances administrative and operational responsibilities in a long-term care environment.
Medical Records Coordination
- Ensure all medical record information is protected and maintained in compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
- Upload, gather, and maintain resident medical records within the facility’s Electronic Health Records system.
- Verify health record documentation is filed accurately and appropriately in resident charts, overflow records, and discharge records.
- Audit medical records to identify incomplete documentation and notify responsible individuals for timely completion.
- Mail documents to Center physicians as needed for required signatures and follow up to ensure timely return.
- Track and manage time frames for returned signed documentation.
- Maintain the bound Master Admission and Discharge Register.
- Verify completion and accuracy of resident face sheets.
- Ensure Medicare resident certifications and re-certifications are completed and signed by attending physicians in a timely manner.
Central Supply Coordination
- Account for medical and facility supplies used within the previous 24-hour period.
- Print and review perpetual re-order reports.
- Prepare and submit supply orders using established re-order forms.
- Receive incoming shipments, input packing slips, and restock medical supply rooms accordingly.
- Conduct routine inventory spot checks to ensure adequate supply levels.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of supplies received and inventory on hand.
- Forward invoices to appropriate parties promptly for payment processing.
- Manage central supply ordering within the established monthly budget.
- Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferred:
Experience using Point Click Care or similar EHR systems. - Preferred:
One year of experience in medical records or health information management within a long-term care or healthcare setting.
